Story

She first encountered art in junior high school, where she was profoundly moved by contemporary art. The freedom and powerful core of the pieces she saw left a lasting impression on her, inspiring her to pursue a path in the arts. This encounter with art allowed her to be honest with herself about her passions.

Currently, she is preparing for university entrance exams to pursue a degree in fine arts. "In the future, I want to be able to think, 'I'm pretty cool,'" she says.

Her work is heavily influenced by films and music, and she aims for her creations to become part of the broader cultural scene. Her first zine, "confusing you?", is themed around her hometown.

"I used to dislike my hometown. It was noisy, dirty, and walking alone at night was terrifying. But I think what I really hated was not being able to love the place I had lived for 18 years. When I saw my hometown through the camera lens, I discovered aspects of it I had never noticed before. There were things I didn't want to capture, but there were also things that, once framed neatly, I could finally appreciate a little.

Realizing that my hometown was actually quite cool was a significant step for me. This zine helped me love the place I was born and the friends who live there."

Her first zine "confusing you?" is now available for sale. For more details, click here.
