LATELY Vol. 1

LATELY is a new twice-yearly publication by Tokyo-based photographer Deniz Demir @denizdemir.photos.

Every year, Deniz makes work that never leaves a screen. Projects he's proud of get reduced to a scroll, a story that vanishes in a day, a folder in an archive that keeps growing. LATELY exists so that half a year of his work has somewhere else to live.

Volume 1 collects what he made in the first six months of 2026: street photography, portraits, editorials, studio experiments, and personal projects, across 132 pages.

For years Deniz identified primarily as a street photographer. The streets still shape how he sees, but the last few years have pulled his work outward: into studios, into colour and light, into collaborations with people who push him somewhere unfamiliar. This is the first volume to show all of it in one place.

Perfect bound, B5, printed in Japan on matte coated stock with a subdued gloss. Designed by Deniz himself.
