July 2019 "Shinjuku Rhapsody" Shinjuku

Venue: Shinjuku Golden Gai Colors

I have always admired Tokyo. Life in the countryside was closed-off and unbearably suffocating. In an effort to escape this reality, I would periodically visit Tokyo, and there I encountered Shinjuku, Japan's largest entertainment district. This is a record of the people I met in Shinjuku.

September 2022 "Caterpillar Me and the Empty Shell of Myself." Osaka

Venue: Gallery Room 305

Since childhood, I have felt, "I wish I had been born a woman."
In my mid-twenties, while my peers were succeeding in their careers, getting married, and having children, living as typical adults, I was aimlessly living as a part-time worker, rotting away in the stifling countryside. It was during this time that I discovered cross-dressing, and I felt a clear separation between my male and female selves. A new life was born, detached from my male self.

"If I had been born a woman, I might have had such expressions." This exhibition features photos taken over four years with such thoughts in mind.

I am a friendly and lonely caterpillar who wants to be loved by everyone. And I am an empty shell who is bad at socializing and wants to be nobody. An illusionary me and a chasing me. A record of these two figures and their hearts.
